Biography
I was raised in a French Catholic school (Les Soeurs de Besançon) in Damascus. I continued my education at the University of Damascus and have a BA in French Literature.
I have been teaching French Language at El Paso High School since 2004, level I to IV (AP). I am tri-lingual; I speak, read and write French, English and Arabic.
I have being the treasurer of the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF)/El Paso Chapter since 2008. I am also an AP Reader (College Board).
I am married and have three daughters.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE GOALS:
1- Students will learn how to communicate gradually in a language other than English using the skills of speaking, reading and writing.
2- Students will gain knowledge and understanding of other cultures.
3- Students will use the language to make connections with other subject areas and to acquire information.
4- Students develop insight into the nature of language and culture by comparing their own language and culture to another and by demonstrating an understanding of the influence of one language and culture on another.
5- Students will be able to use the language beyond the school setting activities such as participating in cultural events and using technology to communicate. Students will show evidence of becoming lifelong learners by using the language for personal enrichment and career development.
6- The final goal is for students to be able to score a 3 or more on the AP exam in level IV.

Violation of class rules will result in the following consequences:
1. Verbal warning
2. Student/teacher conference
3. Telephone call, e-mail, or note to parent/guardian
4. Parent/teacher conference
5. Official report

School year 2015 – 2016
- Treat your teacher and classmates with courtesy and respect AT ALL TIMES.
- Be on time to class, have textbook and required materials ready as class begins.
- Participation is a REQUISITE for this class.
- Students will be responsible of keeping a “Record Log” of ALL complete assignments turned in.
- Food, beverages are restricted. Electronics/cellular on operational mood will be confiscated..
- Parents are responsible for checking on constant basis the student’s academic/behavioral progress through the District– PARENT PORTAL*
- Late work will affect a full credit.
